Teresa Hernandez, a Production Technician, is one of the latest recipients of the Averna Star, a recognition awarded to Averna employees by both their managers and their peers. This is due to Teresa’s complete dedication and commitment to delivering the best work she can offer with an open mind to grow. Always wanting to learn new things and take advantage of opportunities in her path, Teresa knows how to make the most of her time.
Q: Where were you before Averna and how did you get here?
A: I came from a different company also in the field of electronics in the production area! This experience has certainly helped me with my current role at Averna.
Q: What attracted you to your work as a technician?
A: How things work has always caught my attention, and I have always wanted to know how to go about the assembly process. It is a little like a puzzle.
Q: What is your favorite aspect of your current role?
A: I am lucky to be able to learn more every day and fulfill myself with a job well done as an electronics technician. Averna likes to see you develop and take advantage of your skills in the best possible way and supports you so that you continue learning. They value your effort, and offer you courses if you want to move forward.
Q: Is test engineering a more challenging field for an engineer with the range of technologies that must be mastered?
A: Yes, of course! With the different types of customers that we work with, who are at the cutting edge of technology, new innovations are discovered every day. It is so important to be up to date! This is part of why the learning aspect of my role is so interesting!
Q: Have you had any key mentors or people who deeply influenced who you are, what you believe in and what you’re committed to in your work and life?
A: In my work, my direct boss has greatly influenced me and very much inspired me to learn more every day with my co-workers. They always support me and let me know where I can improve.
Q: Do you feel you achieve a good work/life balance?
A: Yes, of course! This should always be the case. There are so many sides to life, and you should always seek the best for all.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I am extremely proud of the effort I make every day and knowing that I always do my best work. It has been shown to me many times that my bosses and my colleagues are happy with what I do, and that feels very good too.
Q: What have you learned from Averna that will be a takeaway for the rest of your life?
A: I have learned that effort and dedication have rewards and that as long as you do everything with commitment, you will always obtain excellent results.
